Age Details

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 23 years
• Age relaxations: SC/ST 5 years; OBC (NCL) 3 years; Departmental candidates 5 years (with 3 years continuous service), plus additional 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC
• Date of birth as per Matriculation Certificate will be the basis for age calculation
• OBC (NCL) certificate should have been obtained within one year before the closing date of online application

Essential Educational Qualification

• Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board
• Only Matriculation certificates shall be accepted as proof of age
• All educational certificates other than Central Board/State Board must be accompanied by government notifications declaring the equivalence of such qualifications for service under the Central Government

Sports Qualification

• Players who have participated in or won medals in international or national level competitions between 15/01/2024 and 15/01/2026
• Individual Event (International): Players who have participated or won medals in international sports tournaments as part of the Indian contingent, recognized by IOC/IOA/MOYAS
• Individual Event (National): Players who have won medals in National Games/Senior National Championship/National Open Championship or Youth/Junior National Championship
• Team Event (International): Players who have participated in or won medals in international events recognized by the international sports federation affiliated/recognized by IOC/IOA/MOYAS
• Team Event (National): Players who have won medals while representing a State/UT/Sports Control Board/recognized federation
• The sportsperson must be the main playing member of the team in team events
• Minimum qualifying marks: 12 marks for all categories (UR/SC/ST/OBC)

Desirable

• First Preference: Players who have represented the country and won medals in senior/junior/youth categories in international events
• Second Preference: Players with medals or top positions in National Games/Senior National Championship/National Open Championship or Youth/Junior National Championship

General Information / Instructions

• Posts have All India liability and selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India or abroad
• On appointment, candidates are governed by BSF Act 1968 and BSF Rule 1969
• Selected candidates will undergo Basic Training and other prescribed courses
• These vacancies are not open for physically challenged persons or ex-servicemen
• Vacancy numbers are tentative and may change; BSF may modify recruitment procedures or cancel/postpone recruitment
• Recruitment is for meritorious sportspersons who are medal winners/position holders and/or participants as per criteria
• No TA/DA or any recruitment expenses will be paid; candidates should plan for potentially extended stays
• Canvassing in any form will lead to rejection; only online applications are accepted
• Qualifying tests do not guarantee selection; disciplinary or criminal issues will disqualify a candidate
• If a candidate resigns within 10 years of enrollment (not for joining another government position), cost of training or three months pay and allowances will be recovered
